Apollo GuideKurt DahlkeWhen Worlds Collide is sincere, but doesn't take itself too seriously.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzBest appreciated for its apocalyptic special effects.
CinePassionFernando F. CroceCinema's most neurasthenic version of the apocalypse
Q Network Film DeskJames KendrickA fun, sometimes cheesy descent into apocalyptic nonsense.
Suite101.comRob HumanickToo bad the finale plays like a greeting card you wish someone had just given you the money for instead.
VarietyVariety StaffTop honors for this inter-planetary fantasy rest with the cameramen and special effects technicians rather than with performances of the non-name cast.
User ReviewJustin SGreat, highly underrated, sci-fi film that was very innovative in the apocalyptic genre. It's exactly what can be expected by the master of early sci-fi, George Pal.
User ReviewGraemeFar better than Deep Impact, a must for the any Sci Fi fan's DVD collection.
User ReviewJon OI find it amazing that a number of people were unhappy that a 1951 movie didn't have the same special effects as Star Wars. What, I wonder, did they expect? The movie holds up well for its age and, while hokey at times, still breaks what was new ground at the time.
User ReviewRoddy WDespite its age, it still packs a punch, if only because it has a ceraqtin depth lacking in other movies of the time. With only a limited amount of space available on a ship that can save people from the destruction of the earth, tensions are bound to rise. It's based on the 1932 novel by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer btw, which is well worth checking out.
