It's a nice modern take on the old style 70's revenge film. It's got a great energy, an engaging story, some bad-ass, albeit low-rent kill scenes, and yes, the performance from the first-time lead actress is a knock-out. She owns the screen. Granted she plays the role without speaking a word. She is a mute. Whether or not that was a must because she can't act worth a damn or if it was intentional I do not know. But otherwise her face holds a lot of charm and conveys a lot with her expressions. Without speaking a word you end up sympathizing and caring about her. At times the low budgetness of the film shines through but not enough to really hurt it. In the end it won't stand out but worth a look.

User Review - 6/10 by Mark MThis is a little filmed-in-Toronto, independent film from what I can tell and stars a future Playboy Playmate in Shera Bechard. As the description says, she plays a mute russian girl whose sister went to Canada through the help of a group of people that are hiring women for domestic work in Canada. And apparently she was killed in Canada and little else is known about the incident. Well, Karma who is alone since her parents had died a while ago, is heartbroken at being alone now since she only had her sister left. To try to avenge the death of her sister, she goes to the same group who hired her sister to get to Canada to find the people that did this to her. And as we can see, the group hiring women for domestic work is really doing it for foreign sex workers to work in Canada. As Shera's character is mute, she has no lines to speak and because of that, I would say her acting is quite good in portraying a mute person. Yes, she is pretty and there is nudity, but when the movie portrays the foreign sex worker trade and getting them to Canada, well, you can expect some nudity and violence, which their also is. She's like a woman possessed and a killing machine, but still human and frail at times. And getting to see some Toronto locations like the motels down the street are kinda neat. So I liked it because of Shera and thought the story was fair. If you get to see it, hopefully you can enjoy it too. And the ending is a bit of a surprise which was good.

Well paced, and boasting a fine performance from Shera Bechard in the lead role, itâ??s a fairly typical exploitation/revenge flick which does the job despite its low production values.
