Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThis commercial bomb turned out to be Capra's swan song.
User ReviewPat MA Cinderella story about monsters during prohibition. Ann-Margaret screen debut. Another beautiful Bette Davis performance. Oscar nominated Peter Falk steals the film in a pre -Columbo comedic tour de force.
User ReviewAaron MThis is a very feel-good movie. Initially I didn't like this movie that much when I was younger, but as I've gotten older, I've found that I appreciate it a lot more. It has a great story, some of the most memorable characters I've ever seen, it's heartwarming and in my opinion, it is extremely funny.
User ReviewDanette/Dani AAnn-Margret's debut. A beautiful film. Watch it with your mom and bring the kleenex!!
User ReviewTausha MOMG...Apple Annie....loved it...also loved Ann-Margaret who did a great job in this, her first role.
User Reviewjay nTo me, this was the best roles that Bette Davis ever did. Goes to show that she can can be made to look old and dirty as a street person selling apple or clean regal sitting in a penthouse, but still get the job done.
User ReviewTom WA holiday feel good film with Runyanesque characters and a perfect cast led by the grande dame Bette Davis and introducing a 16 year old Ann Margret in her first film. A tour de force performance by Peter Falk won him a nomination for best supporting actor. A great family film with shmaltz and humor for everyone.
User ReviewMark HA wonderful old-fashioned, feel-good farce which keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. They don't make films like this any more.
User ReviewLeslie KMy mother and I watch this every year at Christmas. It is a real feel good Cinderella story with a twist. We call it "Apple Annie" Yes...you will need a box of Kleenex.
