The economic situation in Latvia forces the unemployed German teacher Gunars Taurins (Gundars Abolins) to accept a strange job offer: He is asked to find a house in France for a rich Latvian. On his trip, he befriends the lovesick German Jan who is a proclaimed fan of nuclear power plants. Gunars enjoys the late summer and forgets to complete the task he came for.
