User Reviewbastet 0The musical to end all musicals. Flirtacious, witty, cheeky, infectious melodies, fairy tale ending, this movie has it all. The story is generic as ever, but if you are a romantic and love musicals, you will enjoy the expectant plot and the execution.
User ReviewAj VThe best tailor in paris falls for a hoity-toity princess? Leave it out! Right? Wrong! If that's your view, then you are patently a few sandwiches short of a picnic. In fact, this is about as good a musical as you'll ever see! Everything is top-drawer. The acting is very fine indeed, it's technically superb, the dialogue is funny and well-paced and the songs are well thought out too; they move the plot along nicely and develop the characters. If you haven't seen it, do. It's a stonker!
User ReviewErik GThis movie is pretty much perfect. All the songs are great.
User ReviewTimothy PFun and enjoyable with immortal songs. Along with "The Smiling Lieutenant", one of the best Chevalier movies.
User ReviewMichael TOne of the most innovative musicals of all time, with great songs ("Isn't It Romantic?","Mimi" and "Lover" by Rodgers and Hart), wonderful performances, and direction by Rouben Mamoulian. One of the great ones.
