Leave your thoughts about Road to Zanzibar.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThis Bing Crosby-Bob Hope road film lacks spontaneity and the humor seems forced.
The New York TimesBosley CrowtherFarce of this sort very seldom comes off with complete effect, but this time it does, and we promise that there's fun on the Road to Zanzibar.
Chicago TribuneMichael WilmingtonTarzan movies had been around for years when Road To Zanzibar, the second of the "Road" pictures, took the opportunity to satirize every jungle picture lensed up to that time. The script was funny, although much of the humor reportedly derived from on-set improvisations.
User ReviewJ AWinner! Very funny- especially the drum-off and the gorilla wrestling match.
User ReviewNate T2nd Road picture is worth quite a few laughs. Yet another teaming of Crosby, Hope and Lamour.
User ReviewJohn BThis is one of my top 2 "Road" movies! Bob Hope and Bing Crosby are hilarious together! They prove quite a comical pair, the way they interact and joke with eachother. They are very sincere in their acting, too. Looks like they had a lot of fun making this movie, and all the rest of them for that matter! Fun to watch, and very very entertaining!
User ReviewLee HAnother great film in the classic "On the Road" series. Still funny today
User ReviewEd PI LOVE these 'Road to...' movies!! Bob Hope and Bing Crosby were super toghether!! Throw in Dorothy Lamour and WOW! The laughs don't stop!
User ReviewKevin NA superior follow up to the first in the series, this film is twice as alive and much more focused. To see Hope and Crosby cooking is an absolute riot; their natural charm and humor blends beautifully together, and here in the jungle it makes for some hilarious situations- most notably when Bob wrestles a man-eating gorilla.
User ReviewPaul CContrary to the other ratings here, i absolutely love this entry in the 'Road' series of films - the jokes are old, the plot is wafer-thin and it is all the more hilarious for it. I particularly love the whole 'Cannibal and Gorilla-Fight scene - cheesy and brilliant!
