The DissolveNathan RabinWhat makes High School Confidential a spectacularly unconvincing anti-marijuana manifesto also makes it a consistently amusing, eminently re-watchable camp comedy.
CinePassionFernando F. CroceAs astringent a vision of the late-'50s as Frank Tashlin's are opulent
User ReviewRay LCult masterpiece. Full of jive talk, cheap thrills, beatnik babes, bizarre cast members, and innuendo laid on with a trowel. Still one of the best Friday nights spent at the movies.
User ReviewTerri Hsex, drugs and rock-n-roll 1950's style (the darker side of that straight-laced decade); this movie was amazing, and lots of fun
User ReviewReed RThe greatest bad film ever. Tries so hard to be hip, its almost David Lynch-esque in its surreal wackiness.
User ReviewZoran SThere are two real stars in this movie- 50's jive talk and Mamie van Doren as the drunken nymphomaniac aunt of our anti-hero. Worth the price for the moment when Mamie takes a bite out of his apple while it's still in his hand. Plus rock n' roll teens getting hooked on reefer and goofballs! Fun, fun, fun.
User ReviewPrivate Umamie van doren gives a brief, but fantastic performance in this PSA against the proliferation of drugs and juvenile delinquency in American high schools
User ReviewJason SIs it a serious look at drug addiction and the "narcotics problem," or is it pure exploitation? Well, High School Confidential opens up with Jerry Lee Lewis rolling into town on a flatbed truck, pummeling an upright piano as he bellows one ...
User ReviewKen SFantastic Drug Propaganda from the 50's The beat poetry and Jerry Lee Lewis are particularly choice
User ReviewAnthony JHigh School Confidential was alot of fun. This was a 50s B movie with some pretty uncommon subject matter, marijuana, incest, teacher student relationship . It was also hilariously played out like in a propaganda film such as "Reefer Madness". It pushed boundaries in 50s films and was also quite hilarious. Russ Tamblyn in the lead part was a sly, wise cracker. Crazy! I dig it! maryjane, pot, tea, let's turn on, I've just gotta have a blast! I really enjoy the 50s back and forth.
