Leave your thoughts about A Clockwork Orange.
Slant MagazineJeremiah KippIf you watch Clockwork Orange and see that this is the game Kubrick is playing with us, giving us an avenue into understanding a corrosion of society, the film may be appreciated as his finest masterwork in a career full of them. Certainly, it’s his most human film, right next to Lolita in its refusal to judge its central character’s sickness.
StarburstRyan PollardLike all of his movies, Stanley Kubrick's direction is simply astonishing in every frame; from the warped angles to the eerie motion and surreal atmosphere, it just all adds to the disturbing, deranged environment/mindscape Kubrick's trying to create.
Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)Ken HankeTechnically, the film is a marvel. It's easily Kubrick's best and boldest work.
Austin ChronicleMarjorie BaumgartenA chilling classic, the movie is a scabrous satire about human deviance, brutality, and social conditioning that has remained a visible part of the ongoing public debate about violence and the movies.
Independent on SundayGilbert AdairIt's one of those meant-to-be films whose refutation of every conceivable criticism has been pre-programmed into the work itself.
ReelViewsJames BerardinelliIt demands thought, compels the attention, and refuses to be dismissed. And, for that reason, A Clockwork Orange must be considered a landmark of modern cinema.
Tim Dirks' The Greatest FilmsTim DirksA Clockwork Orange (1971) is producer/ director/ screenwriter Stanley Kubrick's randomly ultra-violent, over-indulgent, graphic film
Urban CinefileUrban Cinefile CriticsIt is one of the most memorable British films ever made, and one that is still valid, entertaining (in its own way) and peppered with many extraordinary scenes.
Empire MagazineKim NewmanA much-maligned and misunderstood classic, this is one of Kubrick's finest movies.
eFilmCritic.comRob GonsalvesRemains as unsettling and shocking today as the day it was released.
