Daniel Gélin was born in 1921 in Angers, Maine-et-Loire, France. A former student of the lycée Institution Saint-Malo, Daniel Gélin was in the same classes as Jean Le Bot, university professor and lover of navy. He moves to Paris where it follows courses of dramatic art of René Simon. He then auConservatoire national dramatic art and meeting Louis Jouvet. He began a career in the theatre and made his first appearance on the screen in 1940.
