| User ReviewRyan FLoved the movie, it covers an important subject that of Drug Abuse, it doesn't glorify it and gives us a realistic take on the subject while being entertaining at the same time. It's got the full range of emotions in its runtime, from some shocking and informative revelation at the start, to chilling and helpless sequence, the movie ends on some charming and hopeful moments for a positive future. The plot revolves around the drug scene in Punjab and how it's destroying the youth, the hands of politician and police go hand in hand in promoting this cancer. We see the world from the points of view of an addict rock star, a naïve labour girl and a corrupt police officer, each undergoing life changes and walking the path to amends. Superb casting and performance, awesome direction, a must watch movie. |
| User ReviewChait MA necessary and hard hitting film that absolutely nails the delivery of it's message. Haunting and chilling at many moments with dark humour introduced at unexpectedly throughout it's run time - this movie entertains and you never notice the 2.5 hour run time. The acting is top notch - with a grounded performance from Kareena Kapoor, absolutely fantastic performance by Shahid Kapoor (continuing with his great acting role in Haider) and break through performances for both Alia (never having played such a role) and Diljit (making his Bollywood debut). The screenplay has to be appreciated for building a character arch for all it's 4 protaganists. This is an absolutely fantastic film by Abhishek Chaubey and you see inspiration he has derived from the works of Martin Scorsese and Vishal Bhardwaj. Shouldn't be missed - definitely worth the price of admission in cinemas and hope to see more films like these coming out of Bollywood soon. |

An important film and excellent acting throughout, especially from the young girl (played by Alia Bhatt) whose life is taken on a harsh, painful course. Not a kid-friendly film, this is a well-crafted and heart-rending reality lesson on the devastating effects of drugs on all levels of society. Go for the great acting and leave shaken. |
