User Review - 10/10 by Sunday Jits like a Tyler Perry movie for white people...but I think i relate to Madea more
User Review - 10/10 by Patti CThis is an awesome movie, great story of good against evil in da Hollywood world.... GREAT TESTIMONY OF FAITH^^
User Review - 10/10 by Corey KNo Matter how bad things might seem for Us, God can turn it all around if We just Walk in Faith and Do What's Right unto Others.
User Review - 8/10 by Laverne RA good film for Randy Travis to be in. I guess I should have guess it from the sticker on the DVD box saying: "an excellent Christ-centered movie," but I felt the makers tried too hard to get a religious theme across. It describes the common "struggle" (which I honestly found annoying) of an actor who b/c of his faith refuses to ACT out certain scenes.
User Review - 8/10 by Phillip WThis is a pretty good movie and it's well acted as will.
User Review - 8/10 by Joe HVery interesting movie, I pretty much enjoyed it and it was very neat to see how they portrayed God working in his life. Plus, I mean... Randy Travis... And he's just pure awesome. I think if there was anything I had to "complain" about (and "complain" is too harsh a word) it's that it suffered from the same semi-"disease" that the previous PureFlix movies I watched suffer from ("Christmas With a Capital C", "Marriage Retreat", specifically): throughout the movie there is a build-up to a "climactic" ending, whether it's a bad guy who turns good, a failing marriage that's saved, or someone who's having trouble and seeking God's guidance. But for some reason the ending is never quite "climactic" enough. In these specific three movies (which I really like a LOT, don't get me wrong) it's like the movie is building up, building up, building up... and then the writers were like "...Oops! We've reached our story-limit, gotta wrap this up now!", so it feels like the "I escape, somehow" complex (see "Thumb Wars" :D)... in this case it's "Everything is RESOLVED! ...Somehow". You almost feel like you skipped a couple chapters of the DVD or something. Again, I really like these PureFlix movies a lot. It's just, this is a "trend" I'm noticing with them, unfortunately. They do a great job of building up, but it always seems like they realized they were running out of time so they had to just suddenly end the movie and sacrifice a real "climax". Again, that said, I still found the movie very engaging and definitely caused me some inward examination. So, 4 stars out of 5!!
User Review - 8/10 by Joan-of AGreat family movie. Randy Travis at his best!
User Review - 6/10 by Russ BRandy Travis was the big attraction to this film. Love his voice/music. The plot I read before I watched it gave me a different impression of this film: "Oscar-nominated actor Michael Steeles (Randy Travis) career is on an upswing ? until his personal life starts spiraling downward Facing a sex scandal, a wife who wants a divorce and a tempting young co-star (Candace Cameron Bure) The plot on IMDB is accurate: "When the life of mega film star, Michael Steele (Travis), is destroyed right before the most important day of his life, his faith is put to the ultimate test." This IS a Christian film, most of which are very weak. And this one may be one of the stronger ones but it is still lacking. My main problem I think besides some of the hack acting, was these moments where the main character appeared to be zapped and see little clues about what God was saying to him. It was just weird. Not that it has not happened to someone that way and was a way to translate it to film but it seemed sci-fi instead of faith based. I did not feel the conviction. The main character was confused and did not know what to do most of the time. I was surprised to see an A- rating on Yahoo from 4 people. They really love something about this movie. The two folks who list this movie as Favorites rated it 4 and 5 stars. My rating of 3 stars is on the generous side. It is like most people who have seen this I think choose to rate it on faith not movie criteria. But IMDB 3.2/10 Stars with 62 votes, including my generous 6 stars. In conclusion, it was nice to see Randy Travis, Bronson Pinchot (Balkie from Perfect Strangers) and Jude Ciccolella. But this movie does not compare to some of the better Billy Graham movies.
User Review - 6/10 by Kirstie KAlright...Randy Travis shouldn't act though.
User Review - 6/10 by Jere MOkay movie, but like most movies, a lot better book.
