User Review - 10/10 by Robert FIf you saw Patton, then this is an important movie. If you didn't see Patton, watch this and you will!
User Review - 8/10 by Kyle MMost sequels following winning titles in the second half of the 20th century tends to falter due to the unreliable casting that doesn't capture the original, or just turned out inferior. Thankfully, this sequel to the 1970 Best Picture winner proves itself worthy towards completeness, despite the smaller scale as a television film that breaks itself like how old serials worked. George C. Scott continues his portrayal within the original range as a definitive portrayal for the titular figure, with more emotions added into his character while leading the rest of the cast's decent performances. The storyline is the same as well in a way of being historically accurate - even though the credibility is slightly questionable - and the technical supportive structures (aka cinematic devices) expressed things well as usual, even though the overall scale isn't quite as epic as the original. But it's understandable considering that it's solely chronicling Patton's memories and reaching up to his final moments. If you've seen "Patton", then "The Last Days of Patton" is a worthwhile second part of the double feature, just to avoid a lengthy amount of time in-between the two. (B+) (Full review TBD)
User Review - 8/10 by Jonathon CA Great Companion to the 1970 hit, and a must-watch for military buffs. I only wish it had been filmed in a better format than 4:3 for television.
User Review - 8/10 by Barry KThis film is the flip side of the Epic 1970 film Patton. Whereas the first film shows the larger-than-life epic general, this film picks up where that story left off and shows his human side. Together, this is cinematic genius. Although The Last Days of Patton is not nearly as noteworthy or compelling, it makes a great sequel for those who loved the first film. Of course, George C. Scott does a great job reprising his role as General George S. Patton.
User Review - 8/10 by I don't know w16 years after his Oscar-winning performance, it's awesome to see George C. Scott return as General Patton. While this flick lacks the sweeping scale of the original, it's still an enjoyable World War II biopic. It's impossible to watch this one without comparing Ike to the hapless Jerry Bremer when he faced a similar situation in post-Saddam Iraq.
User Review - 8/10 by Ray JInteresting story and not bad for a TV movie. Not as original as the original.
User Review - 8/10 by Baltazar SI loved this movie, it made Patton more 3 demisional and human rather than some kind of superhero. In particular the confrontation of Ike and Patton was excellent. The actor who did Ike even looked and sounded like him. In peacetime Patton was a frustrated old warrior who did not know what to do with himself yet he knew the future thrreat the Soviets would be to America. Patton is one of my military heroes. You have to see this movie!
User Review - 8/10 by Trevor RScott reprises his role as General Patton in this excellent Made-For-TV film. I remember watching this when it was first premiered in 1986, and it still holds up today. Scott has made Patton his own in the original 1970 film and this one as well. He is surrounded by a stellar supporting cast and great Direction by Delbert Mann.
User Review - 8/10 by Timmy CI saw this on the History Channel one night when I was around 17 - never got around to seeing the original "Patton" yet (even though my dad has the video). The acting was excellent, and the story brought a human side to the hubris we associate with generals. I think the actor who played "Hap" had the best performance in the movie.
