Full Plot Details

Set in the maligned western suburbs of Sydney, Lebanese-Australian John gets out of gaol to discover his younger brother Charlie is caught up with drugs, hookers and crime. Charlie oscillates between the streets and school. Daily clashes between Scott and Charlie's gang escalate. This feud spills into the streets in a territory and identity battle that turns bloody. The Combination dares to shed light on the racial tension that has often boiled over into incidents like the Cronulla riots. Suburban stereotypes are challenged when John falls for an Australian girl named Sydney. She presents an opportunity for a new start - yet with each step closer to her he is made painfully aware of the choice he will have to make - family or love.

User Review - 10/10 by Lachie SThis movie is fantastic! In my opinion it is the best Australian film ever made. You don't lose interest even for a split second, it hooks you in from the second you see the film begin. I particularly like this movie because not only does it tell us the story of what's going on in our surroundings, it does it realistically. Other films with similarities go over the top and just kill everybody off, dose it up with sex, violence, heavy drug use and lots of coarse language. The Combination shows us how things actually happen in real life and doesn't go over the top. I think it's one of the greatest films ever made and everybody should sit down for 90 minutes and "come see the real Australia".

User Review - 8/10 by Miguel RWhile I had to rewind a few times in order to understand the accents, I must say that this is one good movie. I found the racial tensions interesting, especially since I'm so used to the American perspective in movies. I really ended up caring about the characters in the movie. On a funny note, I got a kick out of the fact that this time, it was the darker skinned people who were rockin' mullets.
