Time OutBob BakerNothing here to upset the kids, little to interest grown-ups except for Tony Hancock admirers.
Cleveland PressTony MastroianniLike all movies from the Walt Disney studios, Bullwhip Griffin is good family entertainment. But some younger members of the family may find it a little slow going.
DVDTalk.comScott WeinbergIt's not high art (and it's sure not close to "classic" status), but Bullwhip presents some old-fashioned family fun that won't have the grown-ups running for cover.
User ReviewFrancine Bone of the funniest movies I have ever seen...borrow it from the library
User ReviewJohn DOne of my dad's favorite movies as a kid-- he read us the book when I was a child and would rave about how great the movie was. It was out of print throughout my childhood, but recently was released on DVD. It pretty much lived up to the hype, though it's still not as good as the book.
User ReviewMara BCute, old Disney movie about a 12 year old Bostonian who goes traipsing off to California with his very proper butler, Griffin, in search of gold. Soon thereafter, the boy's older sister follows them out there and many adventures ensue! Watch for great slapstick fight scene at the end.
User ReviewAj VIt's a silly kids movie from Disney, but I liked it, it's fun. The cast is good, and it's sort of a western comedy movie too. McDowall is really funny in this movie as he goes from the kids' butler to a fearless fighter. A really interesting, and almost unknown Disney movie, I hadn't heard of it before myself. I recommend it to both Disney and McDowall fans.
User Reviewcaprice cA Shy Butler from England tames the Wild West with his Bullwhip and Fist.
User ReviewSimon TPerfectly pleasant typical Disney live action comedy Western about a butler and his young ward (a Disney staple) using their wits to outfox a villainous judge (Malden) and a corrupt sheriff (Guardino). Good for an undemanding afternoon's entertainment.
User ReviewJames HGood Disney production values and better than average from that studio from this time period. The cast is good, but not great. Great score, fun story. Amusing but not one of Disney?s more memorable films.
