Chicago TribuneMichael WilmingtonWilliam Powell and Myrna Loy may not have invented star chemistry but they perfected it.
Movie MetropolisJohn J. PuccioThis entry has a thinner story line, fewer colorful characters, and even fewer witty lines than the first three films in the series.
Chicago ReaderDave KehrThe fourth THIN MAN film isn't nearly as good as the first ones, but it has its own rewards, thanks to the inimitable by-play of Powell and Loy.
User ReviewKestutis KThe fourth Thin Man movie delivers more of the same, but when that happens to be Nick & Nora boozing, solving crimes and being incredibly witty, that is never a bad thing.
User ReviewDanaNick and Nora, and Asta too, are back at it again in this third installment in the wonderful series.
User Reviewjim tThe plot is flimsy, and the film as a whole is only of interest for the continued repartee between Powell and Loy, and even that feels watered down compared to the previous installments. Not a "bad" movie in the traditional sense (it is well-made), but when stacked up against the first THIN MAN, this just doesn't cut it.
User ReviewAnna BAnother great Thin Man pairing of William Powell and Myrna Loy. Never have I seen a better onscreen pair.
User ReviewJeremy BAll of the Thin Man movies are quite enjoyable. Myrna Loy and William Powell make a very convincing married couple that just happen to also solve murder cases.
User ReviewTerri CI give all Thin Mans 5 stars. There's nothing like them.
User ReviewGina AThe humor in this movie is as if it were written for today. Surprisingly hilarious, intriguing, and entertaining. A great mystery! Just as awesome as the first! There is a whole series of these movies. Excellent mysteries.
