Common Sense Media - 6/10 by Jeffrey M. AndersonThis Pokemon movie seems more thoughtful and less interested in flashy violence than others in the franchise.
User Review - 10/10 by Augustine SPokà (C)mon the Movie 2000 has just been replaced as my favorite Pokà (C)mon movie. Pokà (C)mon the Movie Black: Victini and Reshiram is a great film with beautiful animation, an awe-inspiring plot, and a tour de force of emotions run through. Victini is a wonderfully mischievous lout. I will gladly watch this movie again.
User Review - 8/10 by Drew SGreat stuff! I've never seen a Pokemon movie in theaters before! A truly moving experience!
User Review - 8/10 by Alexander YEven though the Black and White series is the least favorable of the Pokémon anime, this first installment of the respective series' trio of films put itself apart from that thought by being the third best yet of the films, as well being the freshest restart. It seems the equally good, well-done dual films attempted to replicate the superior ninth entry's factors with success but stayed below. However, what was attached to the heartening warmth factor was putting in some actual sad moments as build-ups towards the pay-off, as it'd recaptured the cute factor seen in the Advanced series. Not only that particular factor being at its best, the animation and the protagonist's spotlight both were at their best as well, which makes this the best yet of its rating in the anime's film series. (A-) (Full review coming soon)
User Review - 6/10 by oxana .Pokémon franchise has been long known for making two to three versions of their games, adding small changes to make each different yet similar, but I think this is the first time with a movie. Nice idea, although I think it's... not worth it, really. I first watched the "Zekrom version"; Ash and friends, as usual, are traveling, and meet a group of friends after helping a couple Deerling out of danger. They get more than they bargained for when their new friends, who are part of the People of the Vale, hope to restore their old, now destroyed home to its former glory. Much as I love Pokémon, I have to say this was from the weaker end. The story just didn't have its usual drive, and the main event/danger didn't seem that great - or rather, it was hard to see how a good person could make such bad choices and not see it happening. Victini had a big part in the story, with its sad past and Ash's determination to help the lonely Pokémon. The other legendary Pokémon, Reshiram and Zekrom, were sadly left to the shadows. They didn't have that great of an impact, sadly, on the story, and weren't used well enough. I would have loved to see so much more of them, in more creative ways. Decent story, great art as usual, but a bit of a let down. Perhaps they should have pooled their efforts into honing the story and giving it a bit more edge instead of splitting it in two.
User Review - 6/10 by Farron KIt was interesting to see that there was two versions of this that did have semi significant differences but all in all it was an alright movie!
User Review - 6/10 by Shelby FKunihiko Yuyama lets the dragon force flow in Pokemon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram.2 different versions of this film use 90 minutes to tell a similar story, which is quite fitting for the Pokemon franchise. The story is actually quite amusing in the early going. It's all fun and games with a number of Pokemon appearances and the opening credits popping in all the way at the 20 minute mark. The final third is where the film loses its steam. As expected it turns into a Pokemon legend fest while getting more dramatic in nature.Visually, the characters and Pokemon get the job done with the look and feel of a Japanese animation. The voice work is also nicely done, aside from the speaking voices of Zekrom and Reshiram.Pokemon the Movie: Black - Victini and Reshiram is easy to follow and finds its place in the Pokemon universe.
User Review - 4/10 by Paul DAs big as a Pokemon fan as I am, I just didn't like it. Maybe it was the constant talk about how "cute" Victini was or how horrible the voice acting was, but it's just not good.
User Review - 4/10 by Andy CAn interesting premise in itself as the franchise's films imitate the games on which they are based by releasing two films which run parallel, core events remain the same, however each features key details which set it apart (such as the legendary Pokemon aligned with the antagonist, and other minor changes). An interesting marketing idea indeed and as much detail and Pokemon based antics as ever, but for some reason. Most likely my advancing years and the mileage the series has been through, the lofty height of the early films are not challenged.
