A childhood accident victim, she is actually sleeping her life away, awakening briefly on rare occasions. Art student Danny Sloan falls in love with her, unaware that her hospital neighbor, a terrifying mass murderer and mesmerist named Byron Volpe has other, more sinister plans. Sloan helps Laura escape from her hospital prison only to discover that Volpe is about to enter her dreams.

| User ReviewSatoko HThis is a movie for people who LOVE horror films, people who know (and love) films like DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE, or LISA AND THE DEVIL , or SUSPIRIA. People who know that sometimes you have to get over a cheap bit of CGI or a bad special effect, maybe even a bit of bad acting, to find a truly fantastic, weird and quite absurd film that will blow your mind in a good way. In the first couple of minutes you would never guess what hell will be unleashed on your screen later on, as the film descends into madness. This is a relatively cheap film considering effects and acting in parts, it's privately financed but it's NOT direct to dvd trash. Unfortunately the German DVD is cut by over 2 minutes, so i can not recommend buying that one. |

But where it lacks in plausibility it makes up for it with it's creepy and surreal imagery, nicley tuned atmosphere and a whole lot of heart. It's just a shame this film is being overlooked by the horror community. Give it a glance, you might like what you see. |

| User ReviewAl MFrom the director of such garbage as The House on Haunted Hill remake and Feardotcom, Parasomnia is a surprisingly stylish, creepy, and original horror film. Beautifully twisted dream imagery together with a genuinely creepy mesmerist/psycho serial killer elevate Parasomnia beyond the common fare of supernatural slasher films. The dreams sequences are both beautiful and truly scary, and the film's villain emerges from his manacled and muted psycho ward patient into a brilliant yet malevolent madman who sculpts his victims deaths into works of art. Parasomnia never quite reaches the level of true greatness, but it continuously skirts the line and leaves the viewer with some indelible images of horror. |

Interesting combination of horror and romance probably good for couples who cant agree between a guys want for blood and a girls for a sweet romantic tale. Definitely worth the two hours spent watching it. |
