Leave your thoughts about No Holds Barred.
South Florida Sun-SentinelRoger HurlburtWhile wrestling fans surely will queue up to see their boy win the day, No Holds Barred is just a sweaty headlock of a film, with dreary, gory scenes and a bunch of slope-headed hokum to propel it.
Cinema CrazedFelix Vasquez Jr.Hogan as The Ripper is a force of nature here, and he makes "No Holds Barred" in to a fun action cartoon.
BrianOrndorf.comBrian OrndorfBarred is tremendously crude, unapologetically manipulative (Zeus finally breaks down Rip's reserve by crippling his kid brother), and aimed directly at easily entertained 13-year-old boys.
Los Angeles TimesMichael WilmingtonNo Holds Barred gets no points for originality. It's written with the subtlety of a body-slam and directed with the finesse of a hammerlock. But the movie never takes itself seriously and director Tom Wright has fun with the wrestling montages.
The New York TimesStephen HoldenMore than Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr. Hogan behaves like a self-invented comic-book character sprung to life. No Holds Barred is as cartoonish as its star.
Washington PostRichard HarringtonCharmless, stupid and badly made, No Holds Barred makes Rocky look like Citizen Pain.
Chicago TribuneGene SiskelThe film is utterly lacking in the campy quality of the World Wrestling Federation telecasts.
Philadelphia InquirerDesmond RyanFor months now, Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro have been sitting in their dens and nervously clutching their Oscars. They knew that an unprecedented challenge was looming... the arrival of Hulk Hogan in his first starring role in a movie.
Toronto SunLiz BraunMaybe we should mention that the gruesome violence in the movie was enough to make this adult wince.
User ReviewRobert HEverybody is really pumped the whole movie. Very good.
