Q Network Film DeskJames Kendrickits action sequences have a real sense of grit and danger due to their pre-CGI use of actual city locations and stuntpeople lighting themselves on fire, jumping out of buildings, and hanging on the outside of speeding cars
Village VoiceSimon AbramsThe plot - Robert Davi's stoic detective and Claudia Christian's pushy psychologist hunt an undead lawman (Robert Z'Dar) - is pretty dull, but the film handily coasts on sleazy charm.
User ReviewGrayson WThe maniac cop is back in one swashbuckling horror sequel that will keep u on the edge of a roller coaster ride.
User ReviewPaul LI saw this film when I was a kid, before I had ever seen the first "Maniac Cop". I loved it (and still do). Bruce Campbell moves aside and Robert Davi steps in. Davi owns this film. He is one of the coolest muthas alive.
User ReviewEduardo CA rare awesome sequel that definitely lives up to the first film! C'mon the police station massacre! Easily the best and memorable scene in the film. you have the right to remain silent...forever:)
User ReviewMax Mmaniac cop 2 is a great horror sequel of the maniac cop film of course we all remember the maniac cop which he is a zombie cop back from the dead killing a bunch of innocent people but this is a great enjoyable campy gore galore funfest.
User ReviewJoe CSaw this on the big screen and got to meet Bill Lustig and Larry Cohen afterward. The movie kicks ass. Better than the first, which is shockingly good too.
User ReviewBrian PIt contains one of the greatest scenes I've ever seen in a film. The scene in question? Well, the maniac cop has just been set ablaze. Our two heroes, foolishly thinking that they have escaped the clutches of the maniac cop, flee in an ambulance. Well, to everyone's surprise but my own, here comes the maniac cop hot on the trail of these two do-gooder bastards, only not like you'd think. He's not only burning ass trying to catch these two, he's literally burning ass. That's right, he didn't even stop and take the time to extinguish his fire, he lets himself burn as he is chasing these two. I was literally losing my mind as to how brilliant this scene was. I wish, oh how I wish I would have thought of this before they had. Dammit, all the great ideas are taken by grade-z shlock that continues to impress..........
User ReviewCourtney TA marked improvement over the original. The folks at First Look Entertainment are assholes for NOT releasing this on DVD. Write them some letters, people!
