Movie Reviews

ESplatter - 8/10 by Lucius GoreThe film is best if watched back-to-back with the first.
TheFilmFile.com - 8/10 by Dustin PutmanA more than solid if admittedly inferior continuation.
New York Times - 8/10 by Janet MaslinThere's some variety to the crimes, as there is to the characters, and an audience is likely to do more screaming at suspenseful moments than at scary ones. The gore, while very explicit and gruesome, won't make you feel as if you're watching major surgery. The direction and camera work are quite competent, and the actors don't look like amateurs.
IGN DVD - 7/10 by R.L. ShafferHalloween II isn't a knockout sequel, but it's a solid, if slightly slow, follow-up to the original horror classic.
Dread Central - 7/10 by Heather WixsonIt's a rather solid sequel that carries on the legacy of its predecessor well and always delivered the scares for me as a kid.
FEARnet - 7/10 by Scott WeinbergAny childhood favorite that is still a good deal of fun today is a movie worthy of some note.
Variety - 7/10 by Variety StaffThis uninspired version amounts to lukewarm sloppy seconds in comparison to the original film that made director John Carpenter a hot property.
IGN DVD - 7/10 by R. L. ShafferHalloween II isn't a knockout sequel, but it's a solid, if slightly slow, follow-up to the original horror classic.
Flickering Myth - 5/10 by Shaun MunroFar bloodier and sillier than its predecessor, Halloween II is a warmed-over retread of Carpenter's classic original.
Vox - 5/10 by Aja RomanoAs films go, however, Halloween 2 isn't very good.
