Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzI just got the feeling Auster didn't know too much more about this mystery than the viewer did.
Apollo GuideMike DeWolfeAuster's script asks us to suspend our disbelief far more than is reasonable.
VarietyEmanuel LevyThis wanbabe noir is frustrating due to the meandering nature of the pretentious, riddle-like script and lethargic, incompetent direction of Paul Auster in his solo directorial debut
User ReviewMicha? GJust loved it... If I ever go to purgatory - and why shouldn't I - there'll be Dafoe. For sure.
User ReviewRay DSince Paul Auster is one of my favourite authors, it was probably a given that I would love this film....but look closer at that cast: Keitel, Dafoe, Redgrave, Sorvino....this is a haunting meditation on love, sacrifice, and the search for meaning in the world, and well worth the hunt to find it on any format.
User ReviewKate GI dig movies that mess with the space-time continuum, and this one does it beautifully.
User ReviewBrooke MI thought for sure I would not like this movie, but it was such a surprise. I have watched this movie numerous times to figure it out. Definitely great for theorizing and conversing. This film really tugged at my heartstrings, and I never really knew why.
User Reviewvictor lEl mejor, mas conciso y conmovedor relato de Paul Auster. Cine de gran belleza. Maravilla lirica, delicado e intenso prodigio de cine de amor, introspectivo y elegante (Diario El Pais)
User ReviewGuillaume LGood movie that will keep you entertained with unexpected turns in plot.
User ReviewManthos SPretty weird, but I liked it.I loved Sorvino's performance. She was so cute...Great soundtrack too.
