User Review - 6/10 by Daniel Kanother tried and tested plot being reused where a serial killer falls in love and is in a dilemna to decide whether to go for his love and change himself or to stick to his past and the people who gave him eveything....plenty of cheezy lines and the story too was going fine untill Disha(parineeti) realised Dev(ranveer) lied many things to her and then the movie just kept going downhill....ranveer and pari did their best but somehow govinda lacked the x factor for such a powerful grey character and ali zafar as tutu looked out of sorts somehow...a time killer at most :/

User Review - 6/10 by Jasrick JDev (ranveer) and Tutu (ali zafar) are professional killers who are raised from the streets by Bhaiyaji (govinda) and trained for that job. They look upon him like their God and at one point Dev ends up saving Disha (parineeti) who was once a criminal. His love for her grows and soon decides to quit his crime life to become a common man despite Tutuâ??s objection. Knowing this, Bhaiyaji decides to reveal about Devâ??s past to Disha. What happens from there forms the rest. The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was run of the mill.The dialogues were good some were seeti maar. The script was average and the screenplay could have been better. The background score was melodious and two songs were worth watching. Cinematography was effective. Editing was alright. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was apt. Ranveer Singh was energetic, but we saw a lovable side of him in this film. Ali Zafar has given a talented performance. Parineeti Chopra looks cute and expressive, this film also shows her in her most sexiest avatar. The best among the lot was Govinda who still has not lost that fire and appeal in him.His eight minute monologue alone is reason enough to watch the film, it was fire. Whenever a film is made, it has to be in right proportions in terms of its action, humor, romance. This film succeeds to a point, but its more of a masala entertainer reminiscent of the 90-80s .In this film, the first half goes about with elements of some comedy, some romance and some action. The interval bang was neat and the second half was good but ending was way too abrupt.Overall, Kill Dil is predictable and run of the mill, but its still entertaining and fun at many intervals. The ending to was abrupt but the film had Govinda in fine form.... 3/5* or 6.5/10
User Review - 4/10 by Edmund CSometimes, when you decide to come out of your comfort zone & create something new, chances are you may end up failing, this is what exactly happened with this film & director Shaad Ali's vision, who unlike his previous romantic comedy endeavors tries to mix the gangster flavor to his normal formula. Just like previous flicks Bunty Aur Babli(2005) & Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007), Shaad has a talented cast in his hands, but manages to fail them (in spite their great performances) with a weak script & shoddy direction. The first half starts off as revamped version of YRF's other outing this year Gunday (Also starting Ranveer Singh), & then nothing! Throw in a few comic sequences, songs along with romance & bro mance (which works big time!), & just like that the interval is up! While the 2nd half tries to take a more serious note, the film just gets too predictable! The music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is noteworthy with some exceptional songs & choreography, but the misplacement of each one of them do nothing but hinder the proceedings. Among the performances, Ranveer Singh is in terrific form, yet again! The talented actor enacts the love-struck young-blood with enviable energy & conviction. With the ample screen time he has been presented, its pretty clear this film despite its multi star cast notion is actually his showcase, & man he doesn't disappoint! Ali Zafar has a great screen presence, he uses his charm & acting chops to supports Ranveer, wonderfully. Parineeti Chopra looks gorgeous & delivers a fair performance, but its high time she tries a different character other than playing a free spirited girl in every single movie! & at last but not the least, the only reason I was excited about watching this film - Govinda. He springs a pleasant surprise. He nails it as the main antagonist! His laughter, his philosophies & mannerism is something which we have loved & adored for years, but never like this! He is a delight to watch! If only his appearance was more extended. On the whole, 'Kill Dil' is strictly a watchable fare, that's bogged down by a half-baked Screenplay & an abrupt end, with the performances of the main cast being probably the only reason left to maybe watch this film!
