A group of grad students have booked passage on the crabbing boat Harbinger to study the effects of global warming on a pod of Belugas in the Bering Sea. When the ship's crew dredges up a recently thawed piece of old Soviet space wreckage, things get downright deadly. It seems that the Russians experimented with tardigrades, tiny resilient animals able to withstand the extremes of space radiation. The creatures survived, but not without mutation. Now the crew is exposed to aggressively mutating organisms. And after being locked in ice for 3 decades, the creatures aren't about to give up the warmth of human companionship.

Bloody Disgusting - 5/10 by Brad MiskaI really wanted to like Harbinger Down, but felt burned out by the end credits. It's a bleak, tiring and vanilla creature feature that's sadly forgettable. I don't recommend going down with the ship.
Flick Filosopher - 3/10 by MaryAnn JohansonBad acting and atrocious dialogue is topped only by the cheap shoddiness of the practical FX this demo-reel flick is meant to show off. Better they'd remained unseen.
User Review - 10/10 by Ronald DThey did a great job using practical EFX. Have no clue how they many of the shots. Though i have an idea on some. Lance has not lost his touch. Great chemistry with the actors. A must see for Horror/Sci-Fi fans who hate CGI in films.
User Review - 10/10 by reid cHarbinger Down paid homage to the greats in all the right ways: practical effects, claustrophobic environments, a fun crew of characters and of course Lance Henriksen.
User Review - 10/10 by Christopher CThis is actually a much better movie than I see a lot of people giving it credit for. This is a fun B-movie with really clever use of practical effects and miniatures, combined with clever camera work and editing. The story is basic but fun, with some interesting if subtle character arches, such as that between Svet and Big G, that play out through the entirety of the film. I think once the hipster crowed is done being better than this film, retro punks and young horror fans alike will form fond memories of group movie nights over popcorn and Harbinger Down. I look forward to what studioADI comes up with next.
User Review - 8/10 by Dominic VExcellent homage to Carpenter's The Thing 1982. Keep up the great work!
User Review - 8/10 by T SI loved it. Its old school, far from perfect, but made with a lot of heart. Fans of Carpenters classic will lap this up!
User Review - 8/10 by Christian SPleasantly surprised. Combined Alien and The Thing. It made sense. Microbiology is the new 50s atom bomb.
User Review - 6/10 by Greg BThis is a classic style science fiction horror film with Bishop himself Lance Henriksen in a key role and the movie is executed extremely well. The prosthetic work is the best I've seen in years, the sets feel real, music, sound and physical effects are all pulled off beautifully. The only few places that this movie falls short are a few of the actors come off a bit stiff, the lighting sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, some of the prosthetic doesn't look perfect at certain angles but where I think this movie loses the most is actually the quality that its filmed at. Now with everything being in HD and high quality you can see every single flaw this movie has where you wouldn't notice the same flaws if you were watching say Aliens. Despite the problems this movie knows exactly the audience that its trying to reach and it does, it does with flying colors. For a cheesy sci fi horror flick coming out in 2015 this movie does exactly what it promises, nothing more nothing less.
User Review - 6/10 by Mike MThere is a lot to admire about this movie. It follows the spirit of creature features from the 70s and 80s, and even makes exclusive use of practical effects for it's creatures. The environment is cold, barren, and clausterphobic, and you get a good sense of what the crew of this ship is probably feeling. It has that beautiful ugliness I love to see in film, and while not much happens for the first half of the movie, I still enjoyed the environment and feeling enough. The problem is there just isn't that much to this movie. I never really grew too attached to any of the characters. There were characters I enjoyed, but I was never really that broken up when any of them died. It moves at a leisurely pace for the most part, and when the monster action goes down it frequently happens so fast or is so dark there's no way to really enjoy it. When we can see the monster, it looks stellar, but we so seldom get a chance to really look at it. The plot is also lacking, in that it's barely there. Stuff just sort of happens, and the movie ends on such a nihilistic tone it sort of leaves you feeling gloomy and hopeless. Harbinger Down will probably go down as an interesting novelty of a film. If you have the time to kill and you enjoy this sort of thing, you'll find some enjoyment in it. There were things about it I liked, but you really have to be into this sort of thing. I don't know if it's a movie I'll be revisiting, but I'm glad I saw it for the sake of the stuff that worked.
