User ReviewAlex CIve seen all the evil bong and gingerdead man movies, and they're pretty good for what they are. They're supposed to be cheesy and funny in a dark sort of way, and they achieve that. I was scared to watch this film because normally when you see something like this, with two franchises paired together, it ends up as more of a marketing thing than a movie and it turns out to be a total uninspired disappointment. This film was not like that at all. It was actually the best by far out of both franchises and it kept me laughing and wondering what the heck was going on (in a good way) the whole time. If youre looking for a serious and well made hollywood movie, its probably not for you. If youre looking for something weird that knows how to laugh at itself, this movie is amazing.
User ReviewTyler WSurprisingly Really Funny But Lack Horror Of It !
User ReviewKyKy LThis climatic crossover is pretty underwhelming. The film spends too much of it's run time with flash-backs, pointless explanation of the characters, and overdrawn jokes. When the title characters finally meet, it's short lived and not much to bring home. The film ultimately suffers from a cheap, lazy script. Otherwise, it's basic Full Moon standards.
User ReviewWayne KSurprisingly overlooked at the 86th Academy Awards, Gingerdead Man Vs. Evil Bong unites 2 exceedingly silly movie franchises, doesn't have the titles characters fight each other, and pads its runtime with excruciatingly unnecessary discourse about weed, cookies and events from the past. There's at least 2 instances where footage from pervious movies is played inside a cloud of smoke. This film could be half an hour long, and it would probably still be stupid and unwatchable. The Gingerdead Man is barely in it, and his design is even worse than in previous instalments. The Evil Bong also doesn't participate very much. Admittedly it does have the odd funny element. I especially like how when somebody lights up and tokes on a bong the room around them fills with smoke for no discernible reason, and the cheapness of the productions arouses the occasional chuckle, but it's glaringly obvious that this is not a Gingerdead Man movie. He has little to nothing to do, is no more interesting than he was in the past, and I still don't understand how he keeps coming back after being destroyed. Spoiler alert, this film doesn't even bother to kill him, so I guess we can expect to see more of his misadventures in the future. Forgive me if I don't jump up and down for joy.
User ReviewJay BA film that fills up its run-time by reusing clips from earlier films, Gingerdead Man vs. Evil Bong is not a "good film" by any stretch of the terms, but it manages to be mildly entertaining in a "bad movie" kind of way despite its utter crappiness.
User ReviewThee DAHAHAHA Gary Busey is a horror film in itself or should I say: himself. Even though he isn't this installment, he is shown during the flashbacks. The Don, that dude is seriously funny. The only thing that is semi-amusing about this C-List movie is the Asian couple and their montage (p.s. look closely at the female Asian, tada! It's Kimmy-Jin! (Jinhee Joung).
