Leave your thoughts about Deadline - U.S.A..
Creative LoafingMatt BrunsonAlthough it was made over a half-century ago, expect to find plenty of topicality in Deadline - U.S.A., a sturdy drama about life at a big-city newspaper.
Playback:stlSarah BoslaughDeadline-U.S.A. is set in a fantasy world, although the pleasantness of that fantasy (like most nostalgia about the 1950s) depends on whether or not you are a straight white man.
User ReviewMichelle MWhy had I never heard of this movie. It's great! Terrific dialogue and some very spot-on portrayals of journalism life, such as the ode from female reporter Mrs. Wildebrant during the bar "wake." Loved it.

User ReviewLuigi CAn idealized view of a big city newspaper and its editor's struggles. Love the monologuing scenes (by Bogart) of what a newspaper should be and how it adds value to society. Unfortunately newspapers are becoming less relevant as cheap telecomm and the internet has intermediated the publisher & the editor.
