DVDTalk.comScott WeinbergI don't care if the thing was originally made for cable, theatrical, network, or Quicktime. This is one of the very best films I've seen all year.
FulvueDrive-in.comChuck O'LearyA great Western...If there's any justice, director Hill and producer/star Duvall will find themselves holding Emmy Awards for this superior piece of work.
Common Sense MediaCharles CassadyLauded miniseries doesn't glamorize the old West.
User ReviewMike RI love westerns and so really enjoyed this movie, Although everything says it is 3 hours it was more like 5 hours!
User ReviewBruce BThe very Best Movie I have seen in some time. Robert Duvall (Print Ritter )played the part of a Range Boss to the Tee. (Thomas Haden Church) played by Tom Harte is Duvall?s Cousin in this movie. They Movie some horse across a few states and in the process rescue 5 Chinese girls from the hands of a whore Trader. Of Course traveling all these miles they come across bad dudes, the madam who paid for the girls and now hires a killer to retrieve the girls. All in all it makes for an excellent film, Factual gun scenes. Yes sir worth every bit of 5 stars (Robert Duvall) and his estranged nephew Tom Harte (Thomas Haden Church)
User Reviewsarah cI am surprised this film doesn't have more comments. It is brilliant. The acting is top notch- Duvall does a stellar performance. Thomas Haden Church is very believable and I think he was born to play in Westerns. The land where they filmed is spectacular and, I think, reason enough to see the film. Want an exciting, touching, wise Western? Well then watch broken trail. It's long and I like that. The characters are well developed and there are no loose ends. It kind of reminds me of Wallace Stegner's writing. It's poetic, yet full of grit. Enjoy!
User ReviewShari Rso so good great movie Robert duvall at his best
User ReviewJoeWhen is Bill Murray going to break out of his catotonic state? What a bore and what a lousy ending.
User ReviewPrivate UWorth watching for Duvall's brilliant moments. Can't understand why Church sucks so bad in this.
