User ReviewBruce BThis was a pretty cool movie. 2 couples are on vacation on the open sea, when they come across a group of Islands. The skipper of the ship is a drunk, and is passed out when couples are ready to explore an island. The island looks deserted but its not it is inhabited by a Dr. Albert Balleau (Wilton Graff), who has a hobby of hunting humans. (This role should have been played by Vincent Price as our actor did all he could to imitate Vince Price.) After welcoming the couple for a night he lets them know they are now his prey. Filmed in 1959, and in Black and White I thought it to be a pretty good film, nothing to scare anyone, just a good film. One of the actors Johnny Randall played The father on Brady Bunch, this was long before that. This movie was in the Drive In Cult Classics Volume 2, 8 Movie Collection. I sat down and enjoyed this movie, been a long time since I gave out 4 stars to a Drive In Classic.
User ReviewRoger CThe version I have Of Bloodlust has the original quirks in it. It is B&W. Not very good quality and has the usuall dust on the frames. It was digitized when it was moved onto DVD. The movie itself is very good,
User Reviewwm mBafflingly silly in its adaptation of one of the great stories of all time, and absurd in its characterizations, but, at the end of the day, it's all charming and harmless. This is a movie that has something to say and do, and it accomplished both as it flounders admirably. I enjoyed myself with this admittedly ridiculous B-movie classic.
User ReviewBrian SA fun low-budget 50's "The Most Dangerous Game" copy--Terrific Drive-In Fare!!
| User ReviewRichard GMade in 1961.2 couples are on vacation on the open sea, when they come across a group of Islands. | User ReviewLorrie MThe plots nice and all but the guy was annoying me |
User ReviewTheresa JBlack and white movie along the lines of the horror story about the rich man that has hunted endangered game, now wants to hunt a human. Robert Reed (Mr. Brady from the Brady Bunch) when he was younger is a lead in this.
User ReviewJessa STechnically, I saw the Mystery Science Theatre take on Bloodlust! so I was surprised to find it's actually a pretty wicked movie. Hilarious.
User ReviewMorgan Oi got this for what works out at about 45 cents and it's so worth it. Obviously it's a terribly- made movie but lots of fun. The villain comes across as a cheap-ass Vincent Price tribute but is even more camp because of this, and as you all know, in my book camp=quality. i watched this with and without the MST3K commentary and it's actually better without it, so go figure. Overall, 'Bloodlust!' is a superior B-movie that 'The Pest' would shamefully rip-off many years later.
