Today, every ten thousandth person in the country is a dinosaur, evolved to be human-sized, wearing sophisticated solid-light holographic disguises to maintain the facade, getting stoned off regular cooking herbs like basil, rosemary and tarragon, and living by their own shadow government's laws; any human who stumbles upon them is to be immediately executed. Two dino private investigators, velociraptor Vincent Rubio and triceratops Ernie Watson, are hired by one of Ernie's old girlfriends to find out why her younger brother committed suicide, and discover a dino cult called Voice Of Progress that wants dinokind to come out of the closet and reclaim the planet.

User ReviewBobby LThe books this movie is based on have been on my To Read list a while now, so it was kind of ~fate~ when I managed to catch the movie on TV. It's utterly cracktastic - in a good way - and yes, I'm probably going to move those books up a notch on my list.
User ReviewBruce sthis not the laid back funny super mario brothers film but i like it better
User ReviewWes SNothing like the book, but a pretty enjoyable movie. Acting is great, with Daniel Baldwin, Sam Trammel, and Fay Dunaway as the main cast, you cant but help to like the characters. The plot is the biggest like about it. The idea that Dinosaurs surviving extinction and evolving to live among us is pretty original, seeing as I've never thought of that, looking away from the novel. Its sad that this couldnt have been put into a bigger budget. Since it was in a fairly small budget, the visuals (majority being cgi) arent that believable. They aren't terrible, but they arent good either. You dont really get to see many of the dinos either. All but copies of the main guy, Vinne. Who was apparently a Velociraptor, and his buddy (Daniel Baldwin's character) the Triceratops. The only feral/wild dinosaur that you see in the film is a Velociraptor. While Vinne is looking in a storage locker, one pops up eating a carcass, and aftee seeing Vinne, attacks him. Overall this movie is pretty enjoyable. Deserving an acceptable 3 stars.
User ReviewJean STo a sci-fi fan the plot might sound interesting, but the movie is kind of funny and campy even when not trying to be it. Also, I coudn't figure out the plot, it began as an investigation of a murder, but then it brought so many things in that I got lost. I kept watching to know more about the dinos and their world. And I must confess I just watched it completely because I was entertained in the computer at the same time.
