Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzThere are fine special effects courtesy of Willis O'Brien, the King Kong creator ... .
DVDTalk.comDavid CorneliusBehemoth is, if not a great film, then a solid one, clever and smart in the right places.
Suite101.comRob HumanickLurches forward in fits and spurts, only truly coming alive during a brief rampage sequence through London.
User ReviewHayden LA classic monster movie. many have misjudged its power the special effects as always in O'Brian's films are masterful.
User ReviewRussell GThe stop-motion animation was better in "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", but "Giant Behemoth" was good nonetheless. I liked the weapon the Behemoth had, shooting deadly radiation from its body via its natural electric current. Unique.
User ReviewMathieu CLike many other science fiction films, this one seems to think that people go to the movies to learn science. The film seems to want to educate us but at the same time it actually wraps us with the threat of it all. The high point of the film is when the Behemoth actually terorises the city, the special effects are quite impressive
User ReviewAnthony VGodzilla rip off does have a few bright spots.
User ReviewJoe ASweet water monster flic in black and white Atomic testing has awaken a big angry waterlivin' dinosaur and it's also made him electric. He destroys a ferry and gives people damage of burn from far away distances. He takes a walk in the dock areas of London and it seems that he's particularly angry with power lines and houses built out of bricks. Only the professor and the other guy can save the world
User ReviewGerryNot Euegne Lourie's greatest, but it's still one of the first dinosaur flix I went nuts over. Excellent Willis O'Brien effects, nasty makeup work on victims of the critters' elctro-nuke zaps, and interestinfg casting. Whoulda thunk that 10 years after being a marine biologist here, Gene Evans would be one of Walter Brennan's dimwit sons in SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF? Gotta love it!
User ReviewBrian SA British version of The Beast from 20,000 fathoms, lesser known but just as good. A monster coming straight from the Bible. Good dialogue and acting but the special effects don't really hold up. Overall it's a good movie.
