User ReviewKen JSupported and financed by ministry of Culture in Serbia, actually this movie is worth our time. If you like zombie movies, you'll dig this.
Prokleto zabavan film :)
User ReviewFelix TI like most Zombie movies, so its not a surprise I didn't actually mind this.......
User ReviewAngel JBeing a zombie fanatic and a big enthusiast on zombie flicks, I thought the reviews for this film was way to harsh then it was. First let's bring up the budget of this film. For a foreign American influences zombie film, it did a okay job in delivering as a zombie flick. A Zombie flick should have three certain characteristics to make it a decent zombie movie. It needs fantastic make up, a very dynamic location, and a shit load of action. I believe this movie hit these three points. It didn't hit it with the same amount of force as the Dawn of the Dead remake or The Crazies, but it made for a decent movie. I would agree that this was very cheesy, but than again, what zombie movie isn't cheesy. I really enjoyed the cheesiness and corniness of this film and I would see it again. I always encourage and promote up and coming film makers to make zombie flicks. That's how George A Romero started. Although, i must admit, there are many plot holes and over dramatic acting, but the strong suits of this film wasn't the story. This film led from its action packed zombie murders and suspense.
User ReviewPaul DSo bad it's good zombie flick that bends over backward in giving nods to George Romero, particularly the original Dawn of the Dead. This is due, no doubt, to the starring role of Ken Foree. The zombies are pretty well done if not entirely consistent, but the real star here is the unbelievably cheezy script that has a professor spouting off ridiculous lines like, "There are worse thing than dying and becoming one of these shambling things. One could die without ever knowing what it was like to love and be loved." That this cornball line is delivered while hordes of zombies are smashing their way in makes it all the more laughable. There's even a gratuitous slow-motion leaping-through-the-air-while-firing-two-guns shot after which the character simply picks himself up and hurries off in the other direction without having accomplished anything noticeable. An unintentionally silly, overly earnest Serbian undead effort complete with a biblical verse-spouting generic character, a killer nun, and poor Ken Foree trying to run. Any director who makes Foree run is up to no good, and no good is what you'll find in "Zone of the Dead." Get ready to laugh.
User ReviewArnaud NKen Foree is back! After being out of a lot of action since the original Dawn of the Dead, he is back with a vengeance! For not much expectations leading up to watching this Yugoslavian-made horror, it ended up astonishing me with a decent cast of misfits, good story writing, and decent gore. If you aren't from the former Republic of Yugoslavia (not that it isn't in English), I don't know how much one would care to watch this, but I, for one, liked it and if you are any kind of Zombie Fanatic, you'll see it, too!
User ReviewJuha SNot as bad as you might think. The script is nonexistent but the good make up and excitement of the good zombie flicks is there :-)
User ReviewAlexander K"Smells like the end of days" SO bad that it's good. Not on the same level of badness=goodness as Troll 2 though. Wasn't laugh out funny like Troll 2. Would have scored higher if it was. Some of the lines from the actors seemed off/cheesy and some of the actors sound completely different than others (bad sound editing?)...at first, I thought it was voice over on some of the actors. Hot Euro babes. There's a few good decapitation scenes. For a low budget movie, this one did fairly well. Worth a watch if you're bored and into zombie flicks.
User ReviewLeRon V1 Star for the movie, 2 Stars for Ken Foree....old school!!!
