EmanuelLevy.ComEmanuel LevyIn this quintessential Danny Kaye vehicle, which won the special effects Oscar, the star plays the first of his several screen twins, a shy intellectual and a club entertainer.
TIME MagazineJames AgeeBesides being a brilliant comic entertainer, Kaye has considerable talent as a straight actor. Here he gets his first good chance to display this talent, playing two deep-metropolitan types.
The DissolveNoel MurrayThe premise is a thin thread on which the Goldwyn creative team hang big numbers, often barely related to the plot.
User ReviewCaroline SYou will be saying "Prospect Park" and "Potatoe Salad" with a chuckle for the rest of your life. If you love Danny Kay this is a must see. He does a amazing job with acting, singing and dancing. But if you love this show another must see is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".
User ReviewMary FMy favorite Danny Kaye movie! And if only I could have Vera Ellen's legs.
User ReviewNick GReally one of my all time favourite films. Kaye is in top form as the quiet, earnest bookworm Buster Dingle, and the loud, vulgar and hilarious Buzzy Belew. My whole family says "potato salad" at odd intervals because of this. Priceless. Oh, and the greatest tap dancing routine on film, period, by Vera-Ellen.
User ReviewKristi GI love this movie! Danny Kaye is amazing!! He's one of my favorite actors!!
User ReviewPrivate UMy favorite Danny Kaye film. He's hysterical!
User ReviewCristeen GI love this movie. The absolutely brilliant Danny Kaye at his best, and my how handsome in those blue velvet tails. He shows his incredible talent with his ad-lib opera number at the end.
User ReviewAndrea BExtremely Funny!!!! My 2nd fave Danny K. movie.
