Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzA morose and heavy-handed primer for psychoanalysis.
User ReviewStephanie PA great movie. Truly changes yoru outlook n a few philosophiies.
User ReviewAline Dgreat adaptation of the book!! fabulous idea of the director and Armand Assante performed his best character. I highly recommend it!
User ReviewAshkan YA masterful piece which ties the lives of four important historical figures whose work forever changed the way we analyze/perceive life, in a virtual plot that in many ways stays true to all their individual work. Simply a masterpiece but not for the common Hollywood happy audience. Your appreciation for this movie directly depends on your knowledge and familiarity with these characters' work in real life.
User ReviewTatiana T.... perfecta pelicula... ZARATHUSTRA.. FREUD.. SALOME.. NIETZSCHE ... nesecitas algo mas ????
User ReviewPi PNot only explains how Dr. Breuer helped to evolve psychoanalysis with his "talking cure" approach to healing his patients' physical issues it shows how it took an anti-social philosophy genius (Nietzsche) to move beyond the boundaries of the "known" and influence a young Freud in his own development.
User ReviewChristopher SA good film with an intelligent story. However, the truth of the story is dubious at best. Still a good movie and is worth a watch.
User ReviewLucien Fif you can get past the "ABC Movie of the Week" filming and the terrible accents and you have a love for Nietzsche like I do, you will enjoy this movie. Sure, it is fictional, but it gives a glimpse into his everyday life, which is something that not even "Ecce Homo" gave us. It shows the man and not the philosopher.
User ReviewAlice YI really enjoyed this movie very much. True, the characters' motivations and actions are very explicit, and even verbally explained by the characters themselves. Though this takes away from mystery and art of allusion- at the same time, the theories are very well presented. This is not a movie that makes you theorize; it is a movie that presents you with the theories, allowing you to reflect on them with the character's life and... your own life. In the end, you may agree or disagree with what is laid forth... the foundation of psychoanalysis.
