Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzStandard B movie directed with care by the always reliable Gordon Douglas.
Reel Film ReviewsDavid Nusair...strangely uninvolving throughout its 111 minutes.
User ReviewAllan CUp Periscope is a hidden gem and a great film. It is about a Navy commando who is sent on a secret mission to photograph a Japaneses code book. James Garner and Edmond O'Brien give solid performances. The screenplay is well written. Gordon Douglas did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. Up Periscope is a must see.
User ReviewBruce BA great WWII Submarine War film, showing lots of real footage. Lots of old school actors in this one. James Gardner is on a secret mission on a submarine where he's smuggled into an area of a Japanese island to find a transmitter and a secret code. The subs crew just came from a mission where a jr sailor was killed, moral is low. Great picture quality, a top war movie 4 1/2 stars.
User ReviewRyan WFor some reason there was nothing really that interesting about this film it just felt like yeah seen that for most of the time
User ReviewMarylew BBy the numbers World War II movie which, although it features every submarine cliche in the book, fails to include anything in the way of tension or suspense, or for that matter make you care about any of the characters.
