| User ReviewToh HWhile it does take risks, and is something that no other Singaporean movie has been before, I can't help but be slightly underwhelmed. I really wanted to love it, but ended up just sort of liking it. The cast is great, but a big part of my issues with it is due to structure, where a framing device ends up rather extraneous and saps the dramatic tension out of a lot of scenes. Ironically, the drama and pace slow down once the hostage situation occurs, whereas the buildup was fleet and well-executed. The whole thing also feels like it wants to be a little too clever than it actually is - and the meta-ness doesn't help. |
