Spectrum (St. George, Utah)Bruce BennettThis low budget, Utah produced fantasy gamer comedy should be a colossal failure but good writing, an able cast, and a Napolean Dynamite spirit make for surprising, if odd, fun.
User ReviewSarah UHilarious! For an indie movie, I really didn't expect too much going in, but this is a high quality motion picture. The filming is top notch, great costumes, and this film will really make you laugh out loud. I would definitely see it again.
User ReviewJosh ABy far one of the best comedies I have seen in the theaters in a very long time! The friendly nature of the movie makes it appealing to all ages. And the clean humor ensures you that it will be a safe movie for just about anyone. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good laugh in the movie theater!
User ReviewJackie FI was hesitant about seeing this movie the first time. The information given in my Chicago Comic Con events list sounded slightly ridiculous. I've since seen UC three times, and I feel that's not enough to fully appreciate this movie. The characters are great, the acting even better and the storyline was simple and sweet. I'm not a LARPer, nor am I a gamer really, but I was still able to follow and even relate to this movie with ease. I look forward to the day I'll be able to see this movie again. It's a movie that put a smile on my face within the first ten minutes, and left a smile on my face long after it ended. I adored this movie beyond belief. And Voss.
User ReviewDylan THilarious, Laugh out loud funny. So funny it will bring you to tears. I loved the film; this was hardest I've laughed in a long time. The writing was stellar and the actors gave superb performances of some very odd characters. Some say that the film is like an even funnier Napoleon Dynamite. While the comparison can be made, I feel that Unicorn City is unique, funnier, and better in most ways. This film stands firmly on it's own. Don't go in to the film expecting another Napoleon Dynamite. The comparison really should be the other way around: Napoleon Dynamite is like Unicorn City. I really cannot praise this film enough. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing if I should recommend a film to others. I have eclectic (some say weird) tastes. I saw the film on opening night with a packed theater. The reaction was great, amazing. But this was opening night- where people fit the right demographic, know about the film in advance, and are expected to like it. So I left thinking, "I can't wait to recommend it to all of my friends!" My second time seeing Unicorn City was a week later. Again the theater was packed, but the audience was of a completely different sort. It was full of what I think of as normal people. A good mix of everyone. Again, the audience was laughing to the point of tears. At the end of the movie people actually cheered and clapped. For me the second viewing was just as good as the first. So, would I recommend this to my geeky friends? Definitely. Would I recommend this everyone else? Definitely. Come to the theater ready to have a fun time. Unicorn City is not to be missed.
User ReviewAndrea PWas an awesome movie. I have already seen it twice in the theaters I couldn't stop laughing threw the whole movie. It is a must see movie. 5 stars all the way.

User ReviewSummer PMy husband was out of town so I had to take my 2, 4, 8, and 10yr old with me to see this show. I was afraid that this show would be too "adult" for it to be any good to my kids but I was pleasantly surprised that my 8 & 10yr old laughing so hard to the point of tears. I thought the show was hilarious. Definitely will be getting the DVD when it comes out.
User ReviewStevie SI saw this movie twice at GenCon in Indianapolis, IN in 2011. It is my firm and steadfast opinion that it was the best part of my time there. Each character is 100% believable. Anyone who has gamed has known at least one of the characters portrayed, be it the overbearing and power hungry GM, the one who takes it WAY too seriously, or the face-sucking couple. The story is amazingly detailed and wonderfully simple, firmly rooted in fantasy and lightly influenced by reality. This is a wonderful movie for any person, young or old, not just gamers. It's for anyone who has ever wanted adventure, anyone who ever picked up a stick and imagined it was Excalibur. It is a must see for veteran gamers, n00bs, and non-gamers alike.
User ReviewAyberk KSuch a fun and funny movie, for geek and non-geek alike. Lots of laughs mixed with the right amount of heart make this a must-see!!
