Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertDavid Schwimmer has made one of the year's best films: Powerfully emotional, yes, but also very perceptive.
ObserverUna LaMarcheDespite extremely unpleasant material, he (Schwimmer) coaxes subtle, incredible performances from his cast and builds a tense, arresting narrative.
MovielineMichelle OrangeOne of the most chilling things about Trust is how well it lays out the grooming strategies used by expert predators.
Portland OregonianShawn LevyA diabolically well-made film about a 14-year-old girl who's raped by a pedophile who grooms her with online chats and sexts.
Boxoffice MagazinePete HammondWith a sterling cast and an emotionally powerful performance from newcomer Liana Liberato, Trust packs a real dramatic punch.
San Francisco ChronicleMick LaSalleFeatures some of Clive Owen's best work and a startling movie debut by the 15-year-old Liana Liberato.
Christian Science MonitorPeter RainerWhat Trust conveys, at its best, is that ultimately parental protections are not fullproof, and that is the greatest horror of all.
Chicago ReaderJ.R. Jones"A Film by David Schwimmer" is not the sort of credit that fills me with anticipation, but I must admit he's done a solid job with this queasy drama about the rape of a 12-year-old Wilmette girl.
Entertainment WeeklyLisa SchwarzbaumDavid Schwimmer directs this smarmy Hot Topic drama with empathy for the craft of acting but less interest in the craft of making a movie move.
The New York TimesJeannette CatsoulisThe mantle of social relevance can be a heavy one, but Trust, a smooth drama about a girl's seduction and rape by a middle-aged Internet predator, is neither preachy nor hysterically overreaching.
