Los Angeles TimesNoel MurrayThe movie has enough of Woods’ flavor to put a memorable spin on a familiar genre — so much so that it’s almost a crime it isn’t better.
The New York TimesTeo BugbeeThe direction, by Preston A. Whitmore II, seems hampered by either a lack of resources or a lack of interest.
User ReviewMeesha WI love this movie well done will see a 2nd time
User ReviewDominique LReally Entertaining just like the book can't wait for the next one
User ReviewDee RColumbus short gave a decent performance in this gang related film. Although I was left with quite a few questions at the end; the movie provided action, and drama. It kept my attention but as mentioned, had me asking several unanswered questions. Excelling costumes and styling as well - overall decent movie but not one id rush right away to a theater to see.

User ReviewTawheed PThis movie was good, but could have been better in regards to editing and musical score. Some of the actors fell short of doing a good job, but it was fairly solid. I dislike comparing movies, but it was like a low talent mash up of 'Carlito's Way' and 'Scarface'. Some of the landscape shots were nice
User ReviewWilliam MStilted dialogue and hardly a unique script, but was entertaining anyway
User ReviewKiki-Dior MI did not read the book prior to seeing this move and that was apparently a pre-requisite. story was disjointed, poorly edited, awkward, non-sensical, and poorly acted universally. How many shootings can happen in front of 50 witnesses without anyone being arrested??? Avoid this movie.
