User ReviewPrivate UWell, this will definitely highlight the levels of my geekness. If you were a fan of the original Transformers animated series in the 80's, you would love this. After the show ended in the U.S. after the three episode fourth season, it continued in Japan for another three seasons. This episode was supposed to be the start of the fourth Japanese season, but would only be one episode and the final Generation One episode ever produced. The Autobots are led by Victory Saber, and they arrive on a distant planet to save its people from the Nine Decepticon Generals under the command of Violinjiger. The generals are actually the gestalts from the past, under the leadership of Overlord. Victory Saber is gravely injured, so the Autobots are now under the command of Dai Atlus. This episode had excellent animation (similar to the movie), and great characters. It was sad that it didn't continue to a full series, especially when its followup (or continuation) Battlestars came out. Don't try to find the original video tape or laserdisc, just watch it on youtube. It will most likely be in raw Japanese, but it should have the subtitles.
User ReviewDusan MIf only Toei had been able to make this into an actual series (as was originally planned), as the OVA showed potential. Though the focus on Micromasters was annoying, it was nice to see alot of the older Decepticon generals being revived, and Dai Atlas is still a total badass.
User ReviewWinson LWith typical fast action anime sequences - certainly better quality in animation than what was on Japan TV back then. Too bad the story was limited to a one-shot OVA. It was cool to see super-giant TFs beating the daylights out of each other.
