The Hollywood ReporterFrank ScheckTraded features nary an original element but nonetheless registers as a solid if minor oater.
VarietyJoe LeydonMostly due to the limp direction by Timothy Woodward Jr., Traded never really offers much in the way of suspense or excitement. But the sporadic outbursts of bloody violence are efficiently rendered.
Village VoiceMichael NordineThe film likens prostitution to a continuation of the slavery that was eradicated two decades earlier by a certain Proclamation, but never bothers letting any of the working girls emancipate themselves.
User ReviewGreg SAlready screened this excellent western drama with plenty of gun smoke, action and Pare is terrific as a family rancher in search of his daughter! will interview Michael today for June 10th release! @EdArt9
User ReviewGerald YI recently had the pleasure of screening Traded. It was a pleasant Surprise as usually I am not a fan of westerns. Traded is the exception. The writing was superb. Traded featured a story line that was fully developed and complex, yet easy to follow. No huge plot holes or moments of underdevelopment that hands you think "huh?". The dialogue was was realistic and anything but elementary. The acting was top notch with a few recognizable actors. The characters were entertaining and realistic. Westerns often feature the same handful of characters that are interchangeable within other films throughout the genre. That is not the case within Traded. It is completely original. I recommend this movie to anyone that is a fan of good films, not just fans within the genre of westerns.
User ReviewCody JI have a lot to say but will try and keep it short. I have seen better work from all of the main characters in this film. Is the director to blame. Liked the story it was different. Costumes were good. The biggest problem I have with most of the films about this era is the the pioneer women have way too much makeup on! Really. False lashes!? Usually the hair is not at all natural looking. Doubt the ever got a weave. Wish they had done a better job with the talented people they had in this film.

User ReviewLyn BThere almost! Desperately needed more for money for actors and scriptwriters. Editing was abysmal towards the last third of the film. The film had quite a good premise but unfortunately paid the price for third rate actors, The production looked good with some nice visual moments but it was totally let down badly by the terrible shit sympathetic typical American 'All is now good' ending.
User ReviewShanny AThe movie had good potential, but the poor acting and cheesy lines really ruined it for me.
