Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzProvides characters with more depth than usually found in this genre.
User ReviewJohn R150421: Good movie. Some post Civil War history, a great story and acting, tied in with some good action. What more could one ask for? I liked it.
User ReviewArt SPrior to his lonesome series (directed by Budd Boetticher), Randolph Scott was still stoic, upholding his values and doing his duty, even if he wasn't also alienated, lost, bitter (somehow at the same time). Here, with the love of his wife (who doesn't want to be there), he tries to help his native Texans against the carpetbaggers that are swindling them after the civil war. But he works for the law and must defend the wrong-doers and capture the Robin Hood styled outlaw Ben Westland. What will Randy do? Not a bad 80 minute package but lacking the deeper resonances of his later films.
User ReviewZoran SLacks the visual complexity of other De Toth films, but it's an enjoyable film.
