User ReviewAidan HThis film is to blame for who I am today!!! This film is a very good insperation for anybody involved in railway preservation, you must see it!!!
User ReviewDavid BThis was one of Dad's favourite films and I can see why. The gentle cast bring a great Britishness that is now long forgotten. The gentle humour and story really work well for a colourful 1953 film but this story is about the steam stars, the engines. A fantasic scene for it's time when the train rides onto an open street, using no green screen or other footages, relies on great production value and a lorry converted into a train that looks almost real. People laugh about the title and I know not many people my age will/have seen this but I'm thankful for my dad to show me that classic british comedies really do test of time, slighty dated but shows what British films were really like before gangster/violent films. Thanks Dad. :) Great cast and a great family, funny film.
User ReviewPhillip CSomeone put this movie in the British Museum. It is undoubtedly one of the Greatest Ealing Comedies.
User ReviewChris SWhy don't they make films like this anymore.
User ReviewPaul GIts a 5 star classic, if you have never seen this movie, go and do so now, makes you feel good - beautiful film
User ReviewPrivate UQuaint, adorbale and funny. and it has steam trains!
User ReviewSteve BSuperb Ealing comedy set in a beautiful part of England - a true British classic with some wonderful location shots, they don't make them like this anymore - good old-fashioned fun
User ReviewSimon MA Charming film, that epitomises the way in which Britain refused to let its great steam engines and their wonderful railway lines die out. This film is also to blame for making me the person I am today - and I suspect that is true of many people who will rate this film!!!
