User Review - 10/10 by Kris DI understand many will not consider this film "polished" or "professional" but it is an excellent and mature film adaption of H.P. Lovecraft's original short story. It is truly a good film that should be given a chance without the expectation of massive budget and extensive CGI (FX alone is not a measure of a good film BTW). If you love cosmic horror or a lover of Lovecraft's work...this is a film for you.
User Review - 4/10 by Tom MMost of the scenes are suffused with a bright glow. This might be a good look for, say, a Swedish furniture commercial but for an HP Lovecraft film, not so much. All the characters seem pretty detached from one another without a drop of chemistry in sight. There's not one dominant personality to be seen, not even the antagonist, who is given surprisingly little screen time. Some of the characters are supposed to be involved with the black arts but their hobby may as well be stamp collecting for the little focus that's put on it.
