User ReviewNeboj?a RAmazing true story about the biggest genious in the history of the world! On the other hand, a sad and bitter story of conflict between one`s honesty, altrusim and idealism and others` greed.
User ReviewPamela DAs a tireless Tesla follower, I've tried to read everything I can find about him, and have found four movies about him. Secret Of Nikola Tesla does a fair job of introducing him biographically. Oja Kodar looks identical and does a find job with his characterization. The kicker in the movie comes at the very end, and is from what I can gather from my factual reading, right on the money. It's even heavier than Gashole.
User ReviewRay Hprobably the most accurate story of his life. most movies add many unknown theories. this one holds true to known facts.
User Reviewshivam dlook out for a brief appearance of orson wells in this underrated movie
User ReviewAva WI was interested in Tesla and that's what put this movie in my Netflix queue. Then I sat up when I noticed Strother Martin and Orson Welles in the opening credits. The movie is choppy, it is not brilliant, no attempt is made to elucidate at all the scientific issues between Tesla and Edison, besides the very human issue of Edison's fear and jealousy of Tesla. With all those caveats, the acting is wonderful. The actor playing Tesla captures the oddity and prescience of the man without making him seem psychotic, and the eternal issues of pride and greed are underscored very well, and then of course you get two masters, Martin and Welles. I enjoyed it and I'm glad I saw it.
User ReviewLee MThe subject matter is far more important than this particular film about it.
User Reviewbill bVery weak directed. Not so informative and it looks cheap...
User ReviewJudge LNot the best movie...it's age is very apparent...but Nikola Tesla has always fascinated me so I did enjoy it. Plus it has Orson Welles in it!
User ReviewJonathan PNever would I have guessed that a bio-pic about the man who gave us AC (Alternating currents) would be so interesting. Though the production values leave much to be desired the story of the man who feuded with Thomas Jefferson, entertained Mark Twain, and was in business with George Westinghouse and JP Morgan is one that every American should be aware of and The Secret of Nikola Tesla is an easy and enlightening way of learning about a man that history has forgotten (and in some cases ostracized).
User ReviewTrent ROverly reverential and staid, this does happen to also be largely correct. In this instance, it is using biopic techniques to demonize T.A. Edison somewhat and elevate Tesla almost by default. Above mortal concerns, he has Strother Martin playing Westinghouse struggling to produce some sense of narrative conflict while in scenes with the impassive Bozovic as Tesla. Welles is largely up to his usual, lending pompous import and historical frame, but he does so with excellence. It is still very much worth seeing for Tesla fans, as the use of typical means to more interesting ends is enjoyable.
