The Stranger (Seattle, WA)Charles MudedeOne could never repeat an effort like The Quiet Earth; it stands alone in a universe that seems to be itself completely an original.
DVD ReviewFelix Gonzalez Jr.For such a low-budget film, it is beautifully photographed and contains some inspired, yet deceptively simple visual effects.
StarburstPaul MountIt's refreshingly free of the Hollywood gloss which has bedevilled recent entries into the genre; it's gritty, almost matter-of-fact and rooted four-square in a believable and uncomfortable world brilliantly realised.
Little White LiesAnton BitelThe awe-inspiring final image in the film (of another daybreak, echoing the film's opening) is similarly slippery, catching Zac on a liminal, limbic shoreline between multiverse cosmology and hard eschatology.
Backseat MafiaRob AldamMurphy ensures that the film is laced with a very singular brand of Kiwi humour.
StarburstAlan BoonLawrence is compelling, and as a balding, middle-aged man is a refreshing lead for a movie that, if made in Hollywood now, would star Will Smith, Tom Cruise, or whoever the hot, young, brooding leading man of the hour happens to be.
DVDTalk.comScott WeinbergIt unfolds like a particularly cool episode of The Twilight Zone and it keeps the apocalypse interesting up to and including the deliciously ambiguous finale.
PopMattersJ.C. Maçek IIIFor those of you who can handle the cerebral drama that marks some of the best sci-fi, The Quiet Earth is for you.
Cinema em CenaPablo VillaçaDestaca-se de outros projetos similares por concentrar-se principalmente nos efeitos psicológicos do isolamento sobre o protagonista.
User ReviewDavid SIt does what it needed to do ie create a great sci-fi story. You can ask no more.
