User ReviewJason PVery well done, but won't play down to a typical filmgoer's expectations, so if you need spoonfeeding, stay away.
User ReviewLucie CIt works better as a movie about today's chinese youth, thant a movie about lesbian love. Sometimes, marketing really sucks.
User ReviewFrances GThe question is whether or not Wayne Wang knows what he is doing. There is a superficiality and trash aesthetic to this film which could be read one of two ways. Either he does this to echo the Chinesification of America - a life of clichés and empty dreams. Or the film is just superficial. The characterization isn't always convincing to the point where the major epiphany in the heroin's journey is out of character. Some nice photography and, as recent releases go, it's okay.
User ReviewPrivate UPour un film de 90 minutes, ça n'en finissait pas.
User Reviewcarol sNot my cup of tea, I dont like how it ends.
User ReviewScott VA somewhat interesting social commentary of Asian americans, and the modern china told through the a pregnant chinese foreign exchange student searching for love? money? or just a good time in San Fran. But, the whole film seemed as contrived as the cocktail party in the film.
User ReviewLuiz FRoku box. Good looking movie with an interested story and characters, but I gotta warn you that the director really enjoys lingering on a shots, so don't start this when you're at all sleeply.
User ReviewNoel KWayne Wang's artsy, in your face statement about the youth of 'New China' based on a story by Yiyun Li.
User ReviewKatie HIC this with 'come together' or i'in the mood for love'
User ReviewGary Cchinese speaking white guys, gay lovers, prostitutes, human trafficking, lesbian love, abortion and a foreigner with bad teeth. still, turns out to be a slow, so so drama about a girl and her choices.
