Quad City Times (Davenport, IA)Linda CookI had never heard of screenwriter/director Leone Marucci before. But you can bet I will remember his name after seeing 'The Power of Few.'
Shared DarknessBrent SimonA jumbled, offbeat mash-up of conspiracy-tinged action and armchair philosophizing that is hamstrung by a strange combination of slapdash plotting and its own self-importance.
Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA)John WirtThe film's tightly scripted hours in New Orleans wield their way to a destination that's worth the time spent getting there.
Hollywood ReporterStephen FarberThe picture... can't be said to break any new ground in the gritty, mean-streets genre. But it has a better-than-average cast and a few clever plot twists, and it ends up being an occasionally amusing time-killer.
Los Angeles TimesRobert AbeleWriter-director Leone Marucci has a scratch-worthy itch for plump visuals and flashy camera moves, but a limp way with dialogue and story, and — despite his cast — no grip on directing actors.
Times-PicayuneMike ScottIt's got a nice message and a strong cast, but both end up getting lost in the muddled storytelling.
User ReviewFarah RBest movie I have seen in a long time. Absolutely loved it. Fantastic performances. Fabulous seemless plot. If you're in the mood for some Tarantino with way less violence. I highly recommend this movie. I personally can't fathom why it has such a low rating here. Watch it. Allow it to take you on a wonderful, joyous, softly turning, melodious journey. Enjoy it. And then rate it highly as it truely deserves.
User ReviewPtosis TKim Blacklock as "The Bag" takes out of her bag of torture instruments something that looks like something out of the sci-fi movie "Strange Days", - a virtual reality head net 'SQUID', or "Superconducting Quantum Interference Device" She leaves the tortured man in the most grossest part of the of movie when she slimed Mark 1 with vagina discharge that had aged blood clots in it. Perhaps the head net was not a SQUID but some sort of sci-fi tech akin to the Vulcan mind meld but instead it's her queening by stretching her vagina lips to enormous size like giant bat wings to cover the poor man's entire face.
User ReviewLeslie HThe battle of freewill vs determinism plays out in this extremely original and highly entertaining thought-provoker.... told with the non-linear spirit of Rashomon, The Killing, Pulp Fiction and Run Lola Run. Tione Johnson steals the show in her title role.
User ReviewLen MI loved it! I had to go to the bathroom, but I couldn't miss a second of the film. This was an original. Would like to see it again to catch all the clever cuts.
