| User Reviewalanpotter17Inegavelmente Gabrielle Union e Keith Powers têm uma química muito boa em cena, e é sempre muito bom ver protagonistas negros vivendo uma comédia romântica cujo centro temático não é exatamente o preconceito racial, ainda que ocorra de modo transversal à história. Não que seja um defeito abordar tal tema, mas é que dá um novo gás naturalizar os corpos pretos em situações para além do que estamos acostumados a ver. Deste modo, Jenna Jones encarna uma quarentona que tenta superar o término de um relacionamento, e por ser uma estilista um tanto quanto famosa, percebemos aí de forma implícita o peso do patriarcado, já que ela sofre muito mais para restabelecer seu status social. Decidida a seguir em frente, especialmente profissionalmente, ela resolve pedir emprego a uma de suas concorrentes, que, afinal, concede. Ela só não esperava que apareceria em seu caminho o belo e sedutor Keith Powers (a meu ver, muito bem no papel, seguro de si), o filho da sua patroa. Com todo esse prólogo, eu realmente não entendo o que aconteceu com o roteiro para navegar em terreno maduro o suficiente ao retratar ambientes profissionais com competência e, ao mesmo tempo, fazer dos protagonistas pessoas imaturas e realmente chatas no quesito amoroso. Repare como, nas cenas em que a mãe do galã precisa falar sobre o relacionamento com o filho dela, censurando sua funcionária e protegendo seu filho, tudo recai para estereótipos, frases bobas, pegada de adolescente. A protagonista então, uma mulher madura, vira uma menina de 16 anos, birrenta e sem saber como lidar com seus sentimentos. Não que as pessoas, com o avançar da idade, sejam completamente experientes no quesito amoroso, é que simplesmente as situações são forçadas, não há naturalidade, é tudo para criar aquele típico lance de comédias românticas onde há o encantamento, uma barreira, uma busca por solução, e tudo isso descaracterizando as personalidades dos sujeitos. Ao menos, como dito, o casal tem química o suficiente para gerar empatia, e a edição do filme é esperta para torná-lo visualmente interessante. Tirando as caricaturas que deram aos personagens principais para tentar dramatizarem ao extremo o romance, o filme é agradável de assistir. |
