Goatdog's Movies - 5/10 by Michael W. Phillips, Jr.It's certainly not the worst film in the series, but it's pretty weak.
User Review - 10/10 by Martin AA pearl is stolen and hidden in one of 6 busts of Napoleon, Holmes must get to the buyers of the busts before they are killed by the villains who are searching for the hidden gem, just wonderful,
User Review - 10/10 by Private Ubest sherlock holmes you will ever see. Trust me on this. They couldnt film it as good as this now.
User Review - 10/10 by Louise BI like that this was based on one of the originial Doyle stories. The story is fun, fast paced and suspenseful like all of the Rathbone/Bruce films. It's weird because The Creeper actually looks like that. I looked it up haha. The pearl is fucking huge and I wish I had it!!! Loved it!
User Review - 10/10 by kate jBasil Rathbone is equally the best Sherlock Holmes ever.
User Review - 8/10 by Orlok WWhen all of these are done, and they ask me which one I liked the best, it's going to be VERY hard. Here's another great entry in this great series. A pearl has gone missing! Through a most ridiculous chain of events (but it's fun) a gruesome back breaking murderer, Napoleon Bonaparte and bric a brac all lead up to the conclusion. Nothing but fun all around.
User Review - 8/10 by Tom HAnother one of Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes film's, and ranks at the top with his other movies. This one about a huge pearl that's curse, a lot of blood has been spilt over this pearl, Film opens with it being stole from a man on a passenger ship, only to end up in the hands of the clever Sherlock Holmes, who returns it to the owners a museum. But is Sherlock really clever as the Pearl is stole when Sherlock disconnects the security alarm system . What does it take to recover it, you will have to watch the film to find out. A 4 star film in Black and White. I want to thank UCLA University for remastering these films.
User Review - 8/10 by Brian RAnother high point in the Universal Pictures' Sherlock Holmes series of films. This one features Rondo Hatton as the Hoxton Creeper, " possibly one of the greatest and most memorable film villans of all time!" As with all of these films this one is tremendously creepy and atmospheric but here made all the more memorable by Hattons' performance.
User Review - 8/10 by Jeff ZFantastic plot, great scene with Watson trying to find a clipped news article he'd inadvertently glued to his arm, great banter between Holmes and Watson, etc. etc. etc. I liked it a lot :).
User Review - 8/10 by Brian MThis installment actually lends itself more to the horror genre because of its memorable villain, The Creeper. Holmes retrieves the famous pearl only to be responsible, due to sheer arrogance, for its theft from the museum. Giles Conover is the mastermind, but his henchman in the shadows is why this film is remembered. Actor Rondo Hatton, who played The Creeper, suffered from acromegaly, a pituitary gland disorder. I would say this film is darker than most in the series. It is based on "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons."
