| User ReviewElif MLooking for something a little different I stumbled across this little gem!! Absolutely stunning from beginning to end. The cinematography, direction and casting for the movie are perfection. Mert Turak's portrayal of Aziz, one of the leading cast members is nothing short of genius, how I have never seen this mans acting before is beyond me. A story filled with a multitude of wonderfully warm and full characters who have you falling in love with them all from the get go, and a tale of strength, courage, love and a good sprinkling of humor to boot. Cannot sing its praises enough! |
| User ReviewSabah Deautiful story of a disabled young man living in a Kurdish village in eastern Turkey. Expect to be moved by love, generousity and human spirit of the western teacher and the villagers. Stunning views of Kars and super realistic Expression of traditions around arranged marriage in Anatolia. There is some repetition within the story but over all it is definitely worth a watch even with the subtitles, it is not the most wordy movie. Sets, costumes and even the extras are very authentic. This movie lacks the tacky gloss that Turkish movies often have. Highly recommended |
