Leave your thoughts about The Miracle Season.
Film InquiryDavid FontanaThe Miracle Season is still a mainstream sports biopic, albeit with a tragic backstory. But, with energetic sports play and a slightly heavier final takeaway, it rises above the pitfalls that many of those films often fall into.
AwardsCircuit.comKaren M. PetersonThe world needs more of these stories, and there are a lot of them out there waiting to be told.
jackiekcooper.comJackie K. Cooper"The Miracle Season" is an inspiring family film but there is no draw except word of mouth. If those entertained spread the word then this little film could find its audience.
Sacramento News & ReviewJim LaneThe story is inspiring enough to make up for a more or less routine telling.
National PostChris HannaNeedlessly and overly sentimental, relying heavily on a sweeping score to manipulate audiences and tug at heartstrings, The Miracle Season delivers exactly what you'd expect from a movie helmed by the director of Soul Surfer.
CinemaBlendDirk LibbeyAs a film, The Miracle Season is more mundane than miracle, but it will probably make you smile, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Epoch TimesMark JacksonAmerica loves its high school movies. This is a tragic yet simultaneously uplifting true story about girl's high school volleyball, cliché as all get-out-but guaranteed to please.
Arizona RepublicBill GoodykoontzThe Miracle Season is a pleasant surprise, the rare inspirational sports movie that actually earns its tears.
Washington PostMark JenkinsThe rest of the film has a cozy TV-commercial vibe, pumped by tunes from Katy Perry and the inevitable Neil Diamond. It’s no champion, but it’s still a reasonably good cry.
RogerEbert.comGlenn KennyProblem is, every time the movie gets near an authentic emotion, it barely pauses before making a run to the next Katy Perry song cue. (Seriously, both “Roar” and “Firework” are featured herein.) Given the care that the adult and teen actors invested in trying to honor their real-life counterparts, this feels lazy. If you like Katy Perry songs that much, you may feel differently.
